Director, Surgery & Cardiovascular Services- Indiana

Salary: $$41.79–$71.04 / hr

JOB SUMMARY

  • Reports to the Executive Director. Is responsible for the around-the-clock management and direction of the patient care area. Coordinates the efforts of staff, ensures the provision of quality, cost-effective care, and manages the clinical and financial performance of the patient care area.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Master of Science Degree in Nursing or other related field is required. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of job-related experience is required. Management/supervisory experience also required.

  • 1. Requires the ability to develop and utilize coaching and facilitation skills.

  • 2. Requires highly-developed business and human resource skills.

  • 3. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • 4. Requires a very high level of leadership skills necessary to effectively plan, organize, staff, direct, and evaluate the healthcare and management activities of assigned areas.

  • 6. Demonstrates a pro-active, results-oriented approach to management.

Working Conditions

  • 1. Works in an office and patient care or clinical environment involving contact with Medical Staff, Hospital Managers, departmental staff and managers, patients, families, and community agencies.

  • 2. Requires schedule flexibility due to the departments 24 hours per day, 7 days per week operation.

Manager, Major Surgery - Indiana

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Salary $71,635.00–$121,763.00 yr

    • Reports to the Director, Executive Director of Patient Care Services, or Vice President of Nursing. Manages staff providing patient care services and the daily operations of the department. Contributes to the development/revision of policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of care. Serves as the nursing leader for a designated shift of the department and acts as a liaison with other departments.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing required. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana and a minimum of three years job-related experience including one year of leadership experience also required.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Requires knowledge of nursing care practices, equipment, procedures and techniques utilized within the department.

  • Requires working knowledge of department policies, procedures and practices.

  • Demonstrates solid management skills needed to provide effective direction and manage the effective utilization of resources; also requires the ability to promote teamwork.

  • Requires the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to build and maintain effective working relationships and interact in a highly effective manner with all levels of staff. Also requires the ability to disseminate information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Demonstrates excellent planning and organization skills necessary for project planning and to coordinate the activities of diverse groups of individuals.

  • Requires a strong customer service orientation.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a patient care environment requiring physical exertion, frequent changes in job demands, certain undesirable patient care activities, and possible exposure to bio-hazards.
