Director of Cardiac Med/Surg - RN

SHIFT: Full time No Weekends

A large full-service medical and surgical acute care center serving Florida is seeking a cardiac med surg nurse

  • Med Surg cardiac unit

  • 45 beds

  • 60 FTEs (1 manager and charge nurses)

  • Looking for strong leadership

  • Must have BSN

  • Will accept strong manager

  • Must have cardiac experience / open heart/ post- op/ progressive care experience is req

  • Report to CNO

  • Benefits on 31st day

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

 

  • BSN degree required.  MSN or Masters in healthcare related field preferred         

 

 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: 

 

  • 3 to 5 years related experience.  Acute care or specialty nursing experience as appropriate.

 

 SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Demonstrated success and abilities in leadership, achieving results, communications, customer service and health care management.

 

 LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

 

  • RN license in the State of Florida.  BLS

RN Cardiac Med/Surg - $5 K Sign-on Bonus

  • Large cardiology group 

  • If someone is interested in cardiac this is a good unit to start out in and they have the opportunity to move into CVICU if they do well

  • Days and Nights shifts open (7-7) no call/ rotating weekends 

 

Qualifications

  • Current Florida license as a RN

  • Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

  • 1+ Years of experience as a RN in an Acute Care setting preferred / LTAC

 

Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

·         Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN required

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

·         Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required

·         BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider required

·         ACLS required

·         PALS required

·         TNCC preferred

·         CEN and/or ENPC preferred

·         Arrhythmia recognition course within 6 months (if not documented in previous experience)

·      Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician’s orders

  • Must have 1-2 years of ER experience

Education Required:

Associates Degree in Nursing

Bachelor's Degree preferred 

 

Certification / Licensure Required:

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas 

ACLS & BLS Certification 

 

Experience Required:

Prior Telemetry Experience 

EKG rhythm interpretation

Director of Trauma Burn Unit

Reporting to the CNO, this individual will direct and manage the operations and activities of the Critical Care Units.

  • Manage department operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal productivity and patient satisfaction goals/objectives

  • Supervise staff including performance and departmental accomplishments to meet facility and regulatory requirements

  • Promote teamwork with physicians and all health care providers

  • Act as a liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians and employees to ensure high-quality patient care

  • Manage unit supplies and equipment to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

Qualifications

  • Current Florida RN Licensure or 

    • Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)

  • BSN required, Master’s preferred

  • BCLS, ACLS certifications required CCRN preferred

  • 5+ years nursing experience in an acute care setting

  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills required

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of guidelines and requirements for applicable Regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, AHCA, OSHA

  • MUST HAVE Very strong Trauma ICU

  • MUST HAVE Level 1 Trauma Center exp

  • Report to CNO/ Program Dir of Burn unit

**Will interview with burn physician

  • Inpatient and outpatient care

  • Trained Surgeons who are dedicated to provide care for Burn, Wound and Hand/Extremity Injury Patients

  • Level I Trauma Center (verified by the American College of Surgeons) and teaching hospital with 417 beds
